INDIANAPOLIS — On a beautiful summer day, 86 people gathered outside at the Indiana War Memorial to officially become U.S. citizens.
It was the first naturalization ceremony in Indianapolis since the pandemic took hold in March. So, rather than have it inside, the ceremony was moved outside to make more room for social distancing.
Wearing face coverings, the group took the Oath of Allegiance to the United States.
The 86 new U.S. citizens come from all over—22 countries in all.
