INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman is dead after a shooting on Indianapolis' west side early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened in front of Long's Bakery near the intersection of W. 16th Street and Tremont Street just before 3:30 a.m.
Indianapolis Police Department Captain Harold Turner said the woman was shot in her mid-section and taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition. Jasmine Moore, 28, later died at the hospital.
Captain Turner said police are still trying to determine if the woman was the intended target and the details surrounding the shooting.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
