INDIANAPOLIS -- A 20-year-old woman was found dead from an apparent shooting Tuesday afternoon at a northwest-side apartment complex.

The discovery was made around 4:00 p.m. on the 6300 block of Mission Terrace at the Woodhaven Park Apartments.

Police were called to the area on a report of a person shot. They arrived to find a deceased woman alone in an apartment with apparent trauma.

"At this point we do not believe it's random," said IMPD Sgt. Kendale Adams said. "Detectives have some leads we're following up on, but at this point we're not ready to make it public."

The victim's family and police identified her as Netria Lyons, 20. Lyons' family said she had just moved to the apartments in December and was working at Amazon and for a security company.

Lyons' brother and father came to her apartment at Woodhaven Park after calling and texting for days with no response. That's when they discovered her body.

Her grandmother, Alice Hatcher, says she can't understand why someone would kill a young woman just coming into her own.

"This was the Devil's work," Hatcher said. "But the Lord's going to step in and clear it up."

The identities of possible suspects weren't immediately released.
