Woman jailed after allegedly sending texts offering to sell meth to police officer by mistake

JOHNSON CO., Ind. --  A Johnson County woman ended up in jail after she sent sent text messages offering to sell meth to a police officer by mistake, according to court records.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the New Whiteland Police Department after one of its officers allegedly got text messages from Shelby Eicks, 20.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Eicks offered to sell and deliver meth to an undercover detective with the sheriff's office.

Eicks and the undercover detective exchanged text messages and arranged to meet on September 8 and September 10.  She was arrested on September 15.

Eicks is in the Johnson County Jail  facing charges of dealing meth and dealing a controlled substance.
