Woman shot on east side by suspects demanding money

INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was shot early Wednesday morning as she was returning home from work.

The shooting happened just before 1:15 a.m. on the 10600 block of Lacebark Lane.

The woman, who police described as in her mid-50's, said she was approached by two suspects demanding money as she got out of her car.

When the woman told the suspects she had none, they reportedly shot her and then fled the scene.

The woman was taken to Eskenazi Hospital.

As of 6:20 a.m., she was in good condition.

No suspect description was immediately released.
