Renia's mother, Jacqueline Taylor, says she told police her daughter wasn't home early Saturday morning.
They searched for Renia before calling police around 6 p.m. on March 19.
Ariel Johnson, a Ben Davis senior and friend of Woods, expressed disbelief at the news of Woods' death.
"It's like one minute she's at home and then next minute she's behind a dumpster," Johnson said. "Who in their right mind would do this to someone so beautiful and genuine? She was so sweet, once you got to know her. She didn't mess with anybody, so I don't know who would do this to her. She was just 18. Just a regular teenager."
Woods' death comes less than two weeks after a Marion County jury found William Gholston guilty of the murder of another Ben Davis student – 15-year-old Dominique Allen.

Like Woods, Allen was reported missing by family. Her body was later found badly burned and dumped on the west side.
The circumstances of Woods' death weren't immediately known.
