Victim of east side shooting identified

INDIANAPOLIS  -- Police have identified a woman who was shot to death Thursday morning on Indianapolis' east side.

Angela Wright, 40, of Indianapolis, was found around 5:30 a.m. on the 3000 block of Nowland Avenue.

A man driving through the area spotted the Wright's body in the street. Emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner's Office says Wright died from a gunshot wound. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
