ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – A Zionsville woman used her love for helping children to give the gift of education to students in Africa.
Tamara Carpenter, vice president of development for online academy K12, went on a mission trip to Kenya and said she couldn’t leave without making a difference.
“It was just something about it that just called to me,” said Carpenter. “It was God saying I want to use you here. One of the poorest slums in Kenya, they have almost one million people that live in a very small area and so many kids that aren’t educated because they aren’t able to go to school.”
Carpenter and K12 helped donate a computer lab for the students in Kenya along with school supplies and books.
