ANDERSON — A Madison County woman charged in the death of her 23-month-old daughter will not go on trial.
Instead, 25-year-old Kayla Hudson is pleading guilty and will be sentenced next month.
Paisley Hudson died last summer from head and liver injuries, according to the Madison County Coroner.
The toddler's mother was charged with Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death and Neglect of a Dependent.
According to Madison County court records, Kayla Hudson is pleading guilty to both charges.
The second charge stems from serious injuries suffered by her son, three-year-old Riley Hudson.
Her boyfriend, 29-year-old Ryan Ramirez, faces murder charges in the toddler's death and neglect charges as a result of injuries, including a broken wrist, to the little boy.
He is scheduled for trial later this year.
Hudson told investigators she had gone to work the evening of July 27, 2018 and left her two children in the care of Ramirez, her boyfriend.
When she came back to the Anderson hotel room where she and Ramirez were staying, Hudson said she found Paisley in bed, unresponsive and cold to the touch.
The child was pronounced dead at St. Vincent Anderson hospital.
