Several premium iPhone apps — including ones that normally cost as much as $4.99 — were available for free at the App Store on Wednesday.
The developers of the apps decided to make them free to users for an unknown period of time. Listed below are five of the best premium apps that were going for free, as of publication time.

Musicians will likely love this app. It converts a musical passage sung into the iPhone's microphone into a drum machine beat. The app also allows multiple audio tracks to be created so that users can create an entire song from scratch.

This app has nearly a perfect score from users at the App Store. It promises simpler organization of the contacts in a user's phone. Features include the ability to merge all duplicate contacts with a single tap and the ability to make customized contact groups.

This app promises to solve the problem of videos being incorrectly oriented on iPhone. Videos can be rotated at any angle and exported to the iPhone's camera roll.

This weight tracker promises a simple interface in helping users keep tabs on the progress of their diet. The app offers customized charts and statistics, a BMI chart and can send daily reminders.

This filmmaking app allows users to create a video that gives the illusion of a single person appearing in multiple places in the frame at a time. Users take a video or picture of a static background before filming several videos of a person doing different things. The videos are merged to create the illusion of that person being cloned.
