Baltimore rape suspect apprehended after holding hostages at Burger King

BALTIMORE — City police report that they have apprehended the rape suspect involved in the Burger King barricade situation.

The rape suspect held several people, including a 7-year-old girl, against their will inside a Burger King in southwest Baltimore, police said.

Two hostages were released earlier before the suspect gave himself up. 

The suspect collided with another vehicle at Washington and Monroe, then left his car with a gun in hand, Smith said. He then ran into the Burger King.

There were civilians inside the restaurant that were believed to be "held against their will" including a 7-year-old, according to Smith.

There has been no report of any injuries at the Burger King location. The civilian in the car hit by the suspect has minor injuries.
