NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Celebrities with ties to Tennessee are sending their love to the Nashville area following Tuesday morning’s deadly tornadoes.
Officials say more than 20 people have died and hundreds have been hospitalized as a result of the storms that swept through the central part of the state. Gov. Bill Lee says the fatalities were reported across four counties.
Country singer Carrie Underwood is among the stars speaking out about the twisters and the devastation. The Tennessee resident told the Today Show that her family is doing alight, but she noted that her husband and sons had to go to their “safe room” early in the morning.
“He said he had to go upstairs at like 2 a.m. and grab the boys and take them down to, we have like a little safe room in our house, and I bet everybody was crying,” said Underwood.
Fellow singer Kacey Musgraves also addressed the storms, saying that she and her family are safe, but her “friends aren’t so lucky.” She promised to help in any way she can.

Dolly Parton, perhaps one of Nashville’s biggest stars, also took to Twitter, saying “I just wanted all of you to know that we are all with you, and hope that your family’s okay and your property is going to be able to be mended pretty soon, get your lives back.”

Actress Reese Witherspoon, a native of Tennessee, tweeted “Praying for everyone in Nashville and Middle Tennessee dealing with the aftermath of last night’s tornado. 🙏🏻I’m just heartbroken and saying special prayers for the families who lost loved ones. Please stay safe. 💔”
Ryan Seacrest also took to Twitter to say he's thinking about the victims.
"Thinking about my family, friends, and colleagues affected by the Nashville tornado. My heart is with the entire community as they recover from the devastation #IBelieveInNashville," he wrote.
Billy Ray Cyrus wrote that he's heartbroken over the devastating tornadoes.
"My heart goes out to those we lost and all affected. Thankful for the first responders and the strong Nashville community. Thought and prayers to all #PrayForNashville #NashvilleStrong," he wrote on Twitter.
