NAPLES, Fla., -- A disabled man was left a nasty note by strangers after he parked in a handicapped spot at a Walmart in Naples. The person who wrote the note thought because he could walk he was lying about having a disability.

“They took the time to write a note and say, ‘hey’ you should be ashamed of himself," said Omar Arreguin, son of Isais, the man who received the note.

Arreguin provided the note to Fox 4. It read:

"I watched you put your handicap sign up in the window. You should be ashamed of who you have become. You had a t-shirt, jeans, and flip flops on you. You walked into Walmart perfectly fine. Unless you have lung disease such as COPD or emphysema. You are a deceitful fraud. Stop being a liar! Start to be honest!"

Arreguin says little did that person know his dad has three ventilators and a drawer full of medication because of the difficulty he has breathing and walking. He showed Fox 4, his registered handicapped tag he has in his car.

“He has to have some type of problem to be handicapped? He has to be in a wheelchair to be handicapped? For me that was a problem," said Arreguin.

Arreguin says he wished the person would've taken the time to ask his father if it was really a problem. He says he immediately told Walmart of the incident and hopes the person acts with more compassion in the future.
