A driver in Oklahoma City exceeded some NASCAR speeds while on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City.

Testing the limits of a Ford Mustang, a man was clocked going 176 miles per hour and later 208 mph, according to Des Moines-based KCCI

The driver was trying to get away from a state trooper, authorities told KCCI. The man turned off his headlights and brake lights but was pulled over at a red light, the news organization reported. The driver was arrested for reckless driving and felony eluding.

For perspective, the fastest qualifying lap in NASCAR history came when Bill Elliott topped 212 miles per hour at Talladega in 1987.
