Man set to prove the Earth is flat postpones rocket launch

If all had gone according to Mike Hughes' plan, Hughes would have returned to Earth on Saturday having proved that scientists got it wrong and that the Earth is entirely flat.

But these things rarely go according to plan.

According to a Washington Post report, Hughes was forced to postpone his planned rocket launch this weekend due to a number of roadblocks. Among the challenges, Hughes was told he could not use public land to launch his homemade rocket 1,800 feet into the air.

His plan is a simple one. Once he is propelled into the sky, he will take a photo showing that indeed Earth is flat, and that astronauts and scientists have fooled the general public.

Hughes insisted to the Washington Post the he still plans on launching his rocket later this week.

“It’s still happening. We’re just moving it three miles down the road,” Hughes told The Washington Post. “I don’t see [the launch] happening until about Tuesday, honestly. It takes three days to set up . . . You know, it’s not easy because it’s not supposed to be easy.”
