INDIANAPOLIS -- The singing of "Back Home Again in Indiana" is a time-honored tradition at the Indianapolis 500.

Jim Nabors sang it from 1972 - 2014. In 2015, a cappella groupStraight No Chaser took the reins and in 2016, hometown boy and winner of "The Voice,"Josh Kaufman, did the honors.

But now Mike Rowe, best known for the TV show "Dirty Jobs," wants a shot.

In a Facebook post, Rowe says someone mentioned that he should try to sing "Back Home Again in Indiana." That idea made its way to someone at IMS who said he should audition, according to Rowe.
