Tiger Woods announces comeback to golf

Posted

Despite not winning a major since 2008, and battling persistent injuries, former No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods said on Monday he plans on returning to competitive golf next month.

Woods will participate in the 2017 Hero World Challenge Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 at Albany, Bahamas. The tournament is hosted by Woods' charitable foundation.

Woods last competed on the PGA Tour in January for the Farmers Insurance Open; a tournament that Woods missed the cut in.

“I am excited to return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge,” Woods said. “Albany is the perfect setting and it will be great to join this outstanding field. I want to thank Pawan Munjal and Hero MotoCorp for their continued support of this tournament and my foundation. I would also like to thank the fans for their unwavering support during my injury.”
