Donald Trump took a lead in the CNN/ORC national survey released Tuesday morning.

The poll surveyed likely voters and showed 45 percent of the voters favored Trump versus 43 percent for Hillary Clinton. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson registered 7 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein took 2 percent.

When all registered voters — not just likely voters — were counted, Clinton leads by 3 percent with a 44-41 lead over Trump.

The poll was conducted from Sept. 1-4 and surveyed 1,001 adults margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

The polling average from RealClear Politics from August 25 through September 5 gives Clinton a 3.3 percent lead.
