A UPS driver was fired and charged with grand theft after a Florida homeowner caught him stealing a package he had previously delivered on surveillance video.

The homeowner, Jovita Acute-Parker, says she had a brand-new iPhone X delivered to her home in St. Pete Beach on Tuesday.

Parker has two surveillance video cameras installed near her door, so she checked out the footage with her sister when she couldn't find the phone on her porch.

"As soon as she pulled up the video, she's like OMG somebody's stealing your box," Parker said.

The video shows a white male stuffing the package under his shirt and running off into the darkness, turning towards the camera as he leaves.

Parker said she knew the iPhone was stolen because a few large envelopes were left behind.

She and her sister couldn't believe it when the cameras caught a porch pirate stealing the delivery.

A video taken two hours earlier shows the same man in the same clothes, wearing a UPS vest, delivering her $1,000 iPhone X.

Investigators say 47-year-old Jason Christopher Mohn was a UPS contractor. He's since been fired by UPS.

A police report says Mohn's supervisor found the iPhone X in his personal belongings at work, which means Acute-Parker will soon be able to wrap the phone and give it to her friend.

"Stupidest thief ever," she said.
