Medical Lake Veterinary Hospital posted a warning on their Facebook page - protect your pups from burning their paws.
A golden retriever named Olaf visited the Washington State clinic with severely burned paws after walking on a trail with his owner. The clinic said Olaf and his owner walked a full mile on the trail before the owner noticed Olaf's paws were burning - Olaf wasn't even limping or whining.
Medical Lake Veterinary Hospital said a good rule of thumb to protect your furry friends is to put your hand on the sidewalk - if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
