Victims of Dayton, Ohio shooting identified, sister of suspected shooter among those killed

The names of the nine people killed in the Sunday morning mass shooting in the Historic Oregon District in Dayton, Ohio, were released by city officials.

Their names and ages are:

Megan Betts, 22
Nicholas Cummer, 25
Thomas McNichols, 25
Lois Oglesby, 27
Logan Turner, 30
Beatrice Curtis, 36
Saeed Saleh, 38
Monica Brickhouse, 39
Derrick Fudge, 57

Assistant Chief Matt Carper with the Dayton Police Department said Megan is the sister of suspected shooter, Connor Betts, 24.

All of the victims were shot in the street and on the sidewalk of East 5th Street in the Historic Oregon District, according to Carper.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine was at the news conference and said he wanted to thank the Dayton Police Department for ending this incident quickly.

"We will never know how many lives were saved," DeWine said.

Dayton's Mayor Nan Whaley said a vigil is planned for 8 p.m. EST on Sunday.

The next update on the incident is scheduled for 3 p.m. EST.
