KENTUCKY — When no one showed up to a birthday party for two little boys in Kentucky over the weekend, a group of local first responders knew just what to do to cheer them up.
The Burlington Fire Department posted the story on their Facebook page Sunday, recognizing their neighbors in Florence for the response.
"A HUGE shout out to Florence Police and Fire Departments," the post read. "When 2 young boys didn’t have anyone show up for their birthday party someone called the Florence police. They sprang into action and brought Engine 101 from Florence Fire."
They also shared photos of the two boys surrounded by officers and firefighters.
"Their selfless actions resulted in a day that these boys will never forget," the post said. "Well done everyone. Burlington Fire is proud to call you our brothers and sisters."
