INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Mike Pence made his first appearance in Indiana Friday since accepting the Republican nomination for vice president.
Pence addressed hundreds of lawmakers and business leaders at a meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) in downtown Indianapolis.
Pence told the group that Indiana is a story of what "commonsense conservative leadership" can do in a short period of time.
The governor said Republican-led states with conservative lawmakers are improving lives, fortunes and opportunities.
Pence has been a long-time supporter of ALEC, joking that he was for it before it was cool.
