INDIANAPOLIS -- Former Indianapolis Mayor William "Bill" Hudnut will be remembered at services in Indianapolis and near his home in Washington, D.C.
Hudnut died Sunday of complications from heart disease. He was 84.
A service will be held at St. Columba's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, January 4 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow.
In Indianapolis, a public calling will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 North Meridian Street, on Friday, January 6 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. A memorial service will follow on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Hudnut was the longest serving mayor in Indianapolis. He began his first term in office in 1976 and was re-elected three times for a total of 16 years.
