INDIANAPOLIS — Vice President Mike Pence will speak to delegates at the 101st national convention of The American Legion later this month in Indianapolis.

Pence, who served as governor of Indiana before becoming vice president, will address delegates at 1 p.m. Aug. 28 in Halls A & B of the Indiana Convention Center.

Pence also addressed delegates during last year's 100th national convention in Minneapolis. Pence's 25-minute speech covered an array of veterans issues including health care, benefits and national security.

Pence is the son of a Bronze Star recipient from the Korean War and the father of a U.S. Marine. Pence has a long association with The American Legion. In 1977, Pence wonThe American Legion Department of Indiana's Oratorical Contest.
