Will Mayor Joe Hogsett run for re-election? Wednesday event could reveal answer

INDIANAPOLIS — We could soon learn whether Joe Hogsett wants to continue being the mayor of Indianapolis. 

Hogsett's campaign announced a "Special Campaign Announcement" Wednesday evening at the Phoenix Theatre at 705 N. Illinois St.

There has been no indication so far that Hogsett, a Democrat, will not run for re-election. 

Only one Republican has filed to challenge Hogsett, Christopher Moore. Moore is a truck driver and political newcomer.

Republican State Senator Jim Merritt and former City-County Councilor Jose Evans.

The event takes place at 5:30 p.m.
