10-year-old killed, parents injured in Bartholomew County crash

COLUMBUS — A 10-year-old girl is dead and her parents were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Bartholomew County Sunday afternoon.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Dept. responded to the crash on East 25th Street just west of County Road 650 East shortly after 3 p.m.

The details of the crash have not been released, but Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting said 10-year-old Kayydence Mings died as a result of injuries she sustained during the crash. Kayydence was a rear seat passenger in the vehicle.

The sheriff's department says Kayydence's parents were injured in the crash. Their names and conditions have not been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office and the Indiana State Police.
