FISHERS — A 15-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized after they were struck by a driver Sunday afternoon in Fishers.

Officers with the Fishers Police Department responded to the crash around 4:30 p.m. on Allisonville Road near the intersection of White Oaks Drive.

Emergency crews found a black 2013 Kia Optima stopped in the southbound lane of Allisonville Road, according to Sgt. Tom Weger. Medics transported the teenage boy to an area hospital. His condition was not available.

Weger said police believe the teenager was running eastbound along Allisonville Road when he crossed into the path of the southbound Kia.

The driver stopped and cooperated with the investigation, Weger said. No citations were issued and the crash remains under investigation.

Allisonville Road was shut down in both directions for several hours after the crash.
