COLUMBUS — A man is dead and another is seriously injured after a crash involving a semi in Columbus Sunday evening.
Columbus Police Department officers were called to the area of US 31 near the Indianapolis Road overpass around 8:30 p.m. after a vehicle is believed to have lost control and crossed the median, striking a semi that was traveling south on US 31.
The passenger, Musa Rahmani, 53, of Edinburgh was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bartholomew County Coroner.
The 26-year-old driver was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and then transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for serious injuries.
The 32-year-old semi driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.
