Teen shot with BB or pellet while conditioning for track in Marion

MARION — Police in Marion are investigating after a teen who was conditioning for track was shot with a BB or pellet Thursday evening.

According to a report from Marion police, a 17-year-old girl was running in the 3600 block of South Washington Street around 6:19 p.m. Thursday when she heard a loud noise and felt pain in her leg. The girl continued with her run and returned back to Marion High School.

The girl told police she did not know who may have fired the shot nor where it may have come from. Police said she was treated and released from the hospital.
