INDIANAPOLIS — Approximately 240 sex-offenders are expected to attend Marion County's 'Operation Halloween' on Thursday, Oct. 31 — a meeting that keeps sex offenders off the streets during trick or treating hours.

Marion Superior Court Probation Department's Operation Halloween is a meeting that takes place every year, requiring sex offenders under probationary supervision orders to attend the meeting during trick or treat hours. This is the operations 16th year.

Last year, 144 sex offenders attended the meeting under the supervision of the Marion Superior Court Probation Department, Marion County Community Corrections, and U.S. Federal Probation.

Probation officers will be dispatched to locate any offenders who fail to attend.

The meeting will focus on issues related to community re-entry, family reunification, and identifying strengths, barriers and triggers to promote successful re-integration.
