FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- The 11-year-old boy who survived getting hit by a vehicle while crossing the road to get on his school bus in Fulton County is going home soon.
Maverik Lowe's mother shared the update on social media Wednesday saying he will be able to go home on Friday, although he still has a long road of recovery ahead.
Maverik was critically injured on October 30 in a crash near Rochester where three siblings were also killed. The students were all crossing the street to get on their school bus when police say they were hit by the driver of a pickup truck who did not stop for the bus's stop lights and arm.

Maverik has been in a Fort Wayne Hospital receiving treatment ever since. His mother says he still has a long road to recovery and he cannot walk or get out of bed by himself and he can only hold a cup in one hand.
The woman driving the pickup truck is facing criminal charges and is due back in court in February.
