MADISON — After a nine month investigation into the injuries a child sustained while in the custody of a Madison caretaker, Indiana State Police announced Friday that the caretaker has been arrested.
A three-year-old child had been taken to King's Daughter's Hospital in Madison, Indiana in April 2018, after sustaining injuries while in the custody of the caretaker.
Doctors determined the injuries were not accidental in nature.
On multiple occasions the child had returned home with bruises on his face, head and back.
The investigation determined the injuries happened while the child was in the caretakers custody, according to Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.
When ISP officers served the warrant to the caretaker, the caretaker was already incarcerated on another unrelated charge.
