JEFFERSONVILLE — One person is dead and two people are injured after a home exploded Sunday morning in southern Indiana.
Jeffersonville Fire Department firefighters and other emergency personnel were called just before 5 a.m. on the report of a possible home explosion, JFD Sgt. Justin Ames said. When they arrived, they located "catastrophic damage" to the home and damage to other nearby homes.
About 12 to 15 homes in total were damaged, JFD Chief Eric Hedrick said.
The conditions of those injured have not been released.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
