MERRILLVILLE — A Statewide Silver Alert was canceled for a northwest Indiana man on Saturday.
No further information was provided regarding the cancellation of the Silver Alert.
According to the Silver Alert declared on Thursday, Merrillville police were looking for George J. Jakes, a 61-year-old man from Merrillville, who was believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
Jakes is described as a white male who is 6-feet-tall, weighs 300 pounds, has brown hair and blue eyes and may be wearing glasses. He might be driving a bright green 2015 Kia Soul with the Illinois license plate number S830770.
