EAST CHICAGO — A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 1-year-old East Chicago boy who is believed to be in danger.

According to the alert, the East Chicago Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Kannon Ellis, 1.

Ellis is described as a 1-year-old black male, 2-feet 3-inches tall, weighing 18 pounds with brown eyes and was last seen wearing a red Champion hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Police said the boy is believed to be in the company of his mother, Caneesha Ellis, 17, and Jennifer Teniente, 17.

Kannon is missing from East Chicago, which is 160 miles northwest of Indianapolis. He was last seen on Sunday at 12:16 p.m. Police said Kannon is believed to be in danger.
