INDIANAPOLIS — Bumpy Interstate 70 east of Indianapolis should see improvement over the next three-months, but not before some significant traffic headaches.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Friday that a 60-mile stretch of the heavily-used highway will undergo what's called "full-depth patching" in both directions between Mt. Comfort Road in Hancock County and the Ohio state line.

Work seven-days-a-week begins September 6 and will be done in 10-mile increments, starting at Mt. Comfort in the eastbound lanes. INDOT says one lane will be open in each direction in the construction zones and the project should be done by the end of November.

The work is the latest in a series of major state highway construction projects this year on Indiana interstates. INDOT message to drivers is to slow down and pay attention in work zones.
