INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were killed in an early morning crash Sunday on the city's northeast side.

The crash happened on the ramp from I-465 to Shadeland Avenue around 2:35 a.m.

According to the Indiana State Police, their preliminary investigation found that Henry Pierce Jr., 27, of Indianapolis was on the ramp from I-465 NB to Shadeland Avenue NB and hit the guardrail on the east side of the road.

Troopers say it is not clear if the vehicle reentered the roadway and caused the crash.

Reanna McCormick, 25, of Indianapolis, was also northbound on the ramp from I-465 NB to Shadeland Avenue NB. Her car left the roadway, went up a small embankment, over and through a guardrail and landed on a vehicle traveling SB on Shadeland Avenue.
