HENRYVILLE, Ind. -- Two toddlers were killed and their mother seriously injured in an accident involving a car and a train in southern Indiana on Wednesday. 

The crash happened at State Road 160 and Pennsylvania in Henryville around 1:30 p.m.

Indiana State Police say the two children were pronounced dead at the scene and the mother was taken to the hospital in critical condition. No identities have been released. 

The train involved in the crash was a CSX with the K&I railroad. 

The accident remains under investigation by Indiana State Police.
