A hole in his cargo pants and the key cards to his hotel... and a 'scrape' on his leg. That's how an Indiana native knew he'd been grazed by a bullet at the concert in Las Vegas where 59 people were killed and hundreds more injured.

Rick Baughman is originally from southern Indiana and a graduate of Hanover College. He's a big country music fan so he went to Vegas to see a few of his favorites.

Baughman says when the gunfire started he didn't know what it was but it didn't sound like it was part of one of Jason Aldean's songs.

As the rounds kept going, Baughman and his friends hit the ground.  The gunfire stopped for a second so they took off running.

Baughman says the girl next to him was shot so he grabbed her and got into a tent nearby.

He felt a 'pull' in his leg but didn't think anything about it.

When he got the woman to safety, he reached into his pocket and noticed a bullet went through is cargo pants and graze his leg.

You can hear from his voice in the video at the top of this story that he was pretty shook up.

Baughman also had some scary moments when he got separated from his fiance.

He wasn't able to find her for about 40 minutes, but then she texted him to let him know that she was okay and taking shelter at a nearby airplane hangar.

Baughman headed back to Denver, Colorado Monday night.
