MASON, Ohio – Members of the military can get free admission to Kings Island and Cedar Point amusement parks this Fourth of July.
For Kings Island, the offer is valid July 1 thru July 4. Any active or retired military member with a valid military identification can get free admission to the park all weekend. Those who qualify for free admission can also purchase discounted tickets for up to six family members at $34 each.
Kings Island will have its annual Independence Day fireworks show on July Fourth.
For Cedar Point, the offer is valid on July 4 only but is also extended to first responders. A valid military ID or first responder ID is required to receive free admission. Those who qualify for free admission can also purchase discounted tickets for up to six family members for $44.
Cedar Point will celebrate Independence Day with a “Light Up the Point” fireworks display on July Fourth.
Military members who qualify for free admission tickets include:
- Active Military
- Retired Military
- National Guard
- Veterans with Honorable or Medical Discharge
- Reserve Officers Training Corps with valid ID
Kings Island will also celebrate its famous blue ice cream on Sunday, July 1 – proclaiming the day as National Blue Ice Cream Day. The Smurf-inspired treat debuted in 1983.
The celebration will include blue ice cream-themed treats, eating contests and a special blue ice cream photo opportunity.
