FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- A young giraffe tried to make a run for it at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo Monday afternoon.

Thabisa was born at the zoo last November and is the youngest of the zoo's nine-giraffe herd.

A spokesperson for the zoo told the Journal Gazette that Thabisa found a weakness in one of the zoo's electric barriers and was able to escape. They are still trying to determine what happened.

Thabisa did not reach any public areas and was coaxed back into her enclosure around 2 p.m.
