INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Black Expo has been a signature event in Indianapolis for nearly 50 years and makes an impact on so many people.

The expo gives people an opportunity to connect with resources, businesses and each other.

For black-owned businesses seeing success online, it also gives them an opportunity to have a physical store and place to sell their products.

"That's why I'm constantly looking for new opportunities like this one to showcase my business," business owner Melissa Johnson said. "This is something where people have to be custom fit so that's hard to do on the internet."

For people like Mario Young, the Indiana Black Expo is also a place to get important health information.

"It bring us together so we can get more information about our health, I just got done going through the health fair" Young said. "Get information about the different businesses and also you can collect some freebies."

The expo will be held at the Indiana Convention Center from 12-7 p.m.
