INDIANAPOLIS — Water is no longer leaking on a road on the southwest side after a frustrated homeowner reached out to RTV6 for help.
Citizens Energy repaired both water leaks Thursday along Belmont Avenue after Samantha Newkirk said water had been leaking from a hole in the ground and from a service line valve for about three months.
Newkirk said she alerted Citizens Energy and the city several times after noticing the problem in early August, but no one fixed the problem until RTV6's Stephanie Wade looked into the problem on Tuesday.
“Thank you guys so much. Citizens came out yesterday and fixed the leaks including the one they said they would have to dig in the street for!" Newkirk said.
Residents had been concerned a sinkhole might form in the area.
