INDIANAPOLIS — The blood supply in Indiana is at critically low levels, and the American Red Cross is asking for your help.

The Red Cross needs more blood donors like the ones who stopped by Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday. The Indiana Fever teamed up with the Red Cross to hold a blood drive in hopes to restock the supply shelves.

At this time, the Red Cross is down to only three days worth of blood supply.

Officials say with people gone for vacation and July 4th; there's been a lack of donors, blood drives and an increase in the need for blood.

"That kind of creates some sort of a perfect storm in our industry where there's a lot of people that need blood," Lance White, with the American Red Cross, said. "But not a lot of drives to provide it. You know, it's drives like this and the help of organizations like bankers life and the Indiana Fever team that we really rely on to really maintain that steady blood supply."

Those who stopped by to give blood Thursday got to meet the mascots and walked away with free tickets to the Fever game on Friday.

If you missed out Thursday, you could still donate at other drives happening around Central Indiana.
