GREENWOOD — The pandemic has brought Hoosiers together like never before. Now due to the pandemic, two industries have merged to celebrate and keep laughter around through these tough times by working together.

At Gutty's Comedy Club it’s about good clean fun and laughter.

“We've been providing clean comedy in Greenwood for a year," Steven Rivera said. "We said we would survive if we can team up with someone who has the venue and a similar vision. We want to provide shows for both worlds. For those who want to stay home and those who actually want to go out and enjoy themselves."

Right now, laughter does soothe the soul especially with all the pandemic has thrown at Hoosiers. Gutty’s Comedy Club was determined to keep the good times rolling somehow and that's why they have teamed up with the Sterling Event Center in Greenwood.

“If you’re hanging with your friends and you’re not cracking jokes and doing things. It’s not as fun," Rivera said. "Comedy as minor and micro as it is its important for your mental health it’s important for physical health."

“We are here to accommodate them whatever they want,” said Kathy Kretchek at the Sterling Event Center.

As we all look for a reason to celebrate, The Sterling Event Center is still doing birthdays, weddings, and helping people create those memories even during the pandemic.

“We have a groom’s room," Kretchek said. "I have several different arches the girls can pick, and I decorate with their colors and they get married on stage."

In fact, they are really busy right now with weddings.

When weddings aren't going on comedy shows are.
