INDIANAPOLIS — There are new developments in the Dreasjon Reed case.

WRTV Investigates has learned that Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers have been alerted about the potential the grand jury reviewing Reed's shooting death will release its findings as early as Monday.

Reed was shot and killed following a police chase that turned into a foot chase on May 6.

Metro police said Reed shot at police, while the Reed family's legal team denies that.

State police and a special prosecutor led the investigation.

WRTV has reached out to the special prosecutor to get a response.

The law firm of Fatima Johnson, which is representing the Reed family, issued the following statement late Friday:

Today marks six months since Dreasjon Ire Reed was murdered at the hands of IMPD Officer De'Joure Mercer. However, thanks to the Indianapolis community, the legacy of Dreasjon lives on. Small businesses have come together on the 6th of every month, to celebrate Drea Day, donating 10% of their sales to Dreasjon's GoFundMe to help the family afford the experts needed to not only prove Dreasjon's innocence, but to highlight the wrongdoings of IMPD.

We are hopeful that the Grand Jury will see through the lies of IMPD and not only listen to the truth from several eyewitness to Dreasjon's murder, but also lead the way to justice for Dreasjon with a decision to indict.
