Hulk Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, has died at the age of 71.
The Clearwater Police Department said emergency crews responded to Hogan’s Florida residence just before 10 a.m. Thursday after receiving a call about a person suffering cardiac arrest.
He was treated at the scene before being transported by Sunstar paramedics to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hogan was one of the most iconic professional wrestlers in history, rising to fame in the 1980s as the face of the World Wrestling Federation — now World Wrestling Entertainment.
He helped bring professional wrestling into the mainstream with his larger-than-life persona and signature “Hulkamania” catchphrases.

In the mid-1990s, Hogan left WWE for rival promotion WCW, where he shocked fans by turning heel and joining the villainous New World Order (nWo). He eventually returned to WWE in 2002, briefly reviving his “Hulkamania” persona and continuing to wrestle part-time.
Hogan was a 12-time world champion, with six coming at each promotion.

Outside the ring, Hogan appeared in numerous films and television shows and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
Last year, he drew attention after appearing at the Republican National Convention in support of then-candidate Donald Trump.
"Let Trumpamania run wild, brother," Hogan told a roaring crowd. "Let Trumamania rule again."
President Trump reacted to Hogan's death, calling him a great friend.
"He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive," he said. "To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!"
