INDIANAPOLIS — Because bars and restaurants have closed its dining rooms due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Indiana Trivia, a live entertainment company, saw its business come to a stop.

When bars and restaurants were open, the company's 45 entertainers would host 53 shows throughout Central Indiana.

About 90 percent of its business was trivia, but it also hosted music bingo and regular bingo shows.

The goal of Indiana Trivia is to help support local businesses and bring in crowds spending money on food and drinks.

While dinning rooms remain closed, its hosting online trivia nights.

"We really encourage people to go out and make a purchase at a local venue," area manager Aaron Pitman said. "So each day, I get on Facebook and put all of our locations that had trivia Monday night if we were in full mode - anybody who makes a purchase - all they have to do is post a copy of receipt and we invite them to play live trivia for that night."

Restaurants typically pay the company a flat fee for trivia nights, and player never have to pay. Right now, the company is taking a percentage of the sales when you order carryout.
