INDIANAPOLIS—One person is dead and two others are in the hospital with serious injuries, following an afternoon shooting at a gas station on the Indianapolis southwest side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting was an isolated incident between people who knew each other.

Police were called to the Marathon gas station at Mooresville Road and Mills Road at about 2:30 p.m. Friday.

One person — Kevin Jones Sr., 55 — was dead at the scene, and two others were rushed to the hospital in what police called critical condition.

Police fanned out over the streets near the Marathon station and quickly made three arrests.

A fourth suspect remains at large.

An IMPD public information officer said the shooting resulted from an "altercation" that began at another location and ended up at the gas station.
